We admit it: we’ve been cherry-picking America’s best and brightest again. But we can’t help it—we have a weakness for talent!
Maria Edstrom did something that is very hard to do: draw our attention as a freelancer. We handle most work in-house, so when she contacted us it was just pure luck that we needed a helping hand. We gave her a try—and were very glad we did.
Later we met Maria in person at a special training retreat for translators in New York’s Catskills Mountains, where she had gone to hone her craft. That was the clincher: she was a perfect fit for our team and clientele.
A certified member of the American Translators Association, Maria has a B.A. in French language and literature from the University of Chicago, an M.A. in French language and literature from Bryn Mawr College, and a certificate in French to English translation from New York University. She joined the Anglocom team in April 2010.
