“ There’s something very satisfying about taking an idea conceived in French and expressing all its nuances and richness in English. ”
Matthew Knoderer
Certified French-to-English Translator/Editor

Hailing from Baltimore, U.S.A., Matthew joined Anglocom's worthy band of wordsmiths in June 2002. His pursuit of training as a linguist and translator led him to travel near and far from his native Chesapeake Bay. Beginning on the east coast not far from Baltimore at Goucher College, Matthew earned a B.A. in French language and literature before setting off to live and work in Paris. Soon after his return, he headed out west to the Monterey Institute of International Studies, where he received a master's degree in French translation.

As an aficionado of all things fall and winter, it didn't take Matthew long to decide to forsake the warm clime of California for the even warmer people of Quebec. He found the region's unique mix of European charm and North American hospitality irresistible.

In addition to translation, Matthew dabbles in dancing, yoga and the occasional gourmet meal.
